I think crabs are super cool to watch…
They kinda seem like a bunch of crazy alien clowns
when I see them scurry about.
Have you ever seen what happens if you put a group
of crabs in a bucket?
One of them will climb over the rest and make a leap
for the edge of the bucket, in an attempt to pull
himself up and over to freedom.
But as soon as he catches the edge and starts to
move toward the promised land…
The ones left at the bottom grab at him relentlessly to pull
him back into the bucket.
Very rarely does a single crab ever make it out of the bucket.
They want to keep the crew together all within the “safety” of
the bucket.
People are super cool to watch too.
Quite a bit more complex than the crabs, and still a startling
similarity…
In a group of people, when one of them starts to do something
remarkably different (like making the leap over the ledge toward
the promised land of an AWESOME Life), some of the others will
make herculean efforts to keep him from straying too far from the
“safety” of the group’s “normal”.
“No! you’re not leaving my bucket”…
The big difference for this person is that his peers are only
figuratively holding him back from doing great things…
And because he wants to keep the others in the “bucket” happy
and to feel normal he allows himself to be held down.
The good news is we have a choice…
We can surround ourselves with people who think small and
want to maintain “normal” or “safe”…
Or we can choose to make the giant leap and surround ourselves
with only people who think abundantly and believe that by lifting
one another up, everyone can achieve greatness.
I’ve made some tough decisions and let go of the “crabs” holding
me in the bucket of normal…
That freedom has allowed me to grow, create a really f’n AWESOME
Life, and attract new like minded people to share it all with.
I’m here at the top of this bucket to pull you up and help you discover
your version of AWESOME…
Are you willing to let go of the crabs that are holding you down?
CHEERS!

~Travis
